The Morris W. Offit Telescope is the major observing instrument in Maryland Space Grant Observatory,
The telescope has, as its major optical element, a 20"-diameter (that is, half-meter diameter) parabolic mirror. This f/8 Cassegrain telescope was built by DFM Engineering of Longmont, Colorado.
The telescope is located under the Stanley D. and Joan F. Greenblatt Dome, on the roof of the Bloomberg Center for Physics and Astronomy, on the Homewood Campus of The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.

STScI Lectures
Older students may be interested in attending free public lectures at the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI), 3700 San Martin Drive, Baltimore, MD. Each month a noted scientist discusses a different cosmic topic. Lectures are at 8 p.m. the first Tuesday of every month in the STScI auditorium, on the campus of Johns Hopkins University.

YAE provides opportunities for its participants to be exposed to activities and experiences that are representative of the work done by individuals in astronomical and engineering field. They hold student meetings and family events throughout the year.
